Modern Vintage Mondays x Fimp Florals:

The Introduction

Written by Sarah Jane Fimple

Welcome to Modern Vintage Mondays! Our newest Blog goes Beyond the Florals and how small routines such as reading a newspaper or gardening can be really beneficial to our mental health. Our collaboration with Modern Vintage News holds a special place in my heart. At the age of 16, a new teen drama came on WB called One Tree Hill. What I didn’t know then was how impactful this show would be in my life now at the age of 36.

I remember when I met Joy for the first time and picked up her first issue of MVN in the very iconic Tric the night before. It was November 2023, the air was pretty crisp for winter and I was anxiously getting ready for my meet and greet with her. I picked up the issue and started reading the front cover “What Grows When No One Is Looking?” I immediately had a flashback to when my landlord told me “you need to do gardening as a side hustle” When I met Joy she had a very calm presence about her. I remember leaving and she said “I hope to see you again” I knew I wanted to do a flower business but how was I going to make it different?

It was April 2024 when I decided to launch my Gardening Services. About two weeks later Issue No. 3 of Modern Vintage News landed on my doorstep. I had just left a local flower farm and thought to myself - maybe I should wrap my bouquets in newspaper instead. Maybe there is a way to integrate this show I adore so much with my flower business.

I hope you find these blog posts to be inspiring and uplifting, while a better understanding of our awareness as humans. My creativity comes from many years in hospitality while now doing something I love.

Here’s to cultivating the garden of you.
